Coaching Across Cultures: Five Voices, One Conversation

Join our President Tsietsi Telite in collaboration with ICF Romania as we discuss Coaching Across Cultures: Five Voices, One Conversation

Coaching is a global practice, but not the same everywhere. Relationship between coach and coachee, acceptable silences, meaning of trust, of directness, of change itself – all of these are shaped by culture. And yet, something at the core remains constant across every context.

5 ICF chapters from 5 different parts of the world come together for an honest, unscripted conversation about what coaching looks like where they are – and what it means to hold a coaching mindset across cultural boundaries.

What this conversation explores:

  • What is different: how culture shapes the coaching relationship, client expectations, and what coaching looks like in each context
  • What stays the same: the values, the presence, the human core that transcends geography and cultural background
  • What we can learn from each other: perspectives that challenge assumptions and expand practice

Join us for a live dialogue of 5 chapters, 5 cultures, 5 sets of lived experience – moderated to go somewhere real.

The Spiral of Self-Mastery: Coaching Holistically for Sustainable Shifts

Coaching is often seen as a straight line — a journey from problem to solution. But life rarely moves in straight lines. It moves in spirals. Each turn brings us back to familiar themes, yet at a higher level of awareness.

My coaching model, Spiral to Emerge, was born from this truth: that growth is cyclical, embodied, and deeply human. Today, I invite you to explore how a holistic lens can help us, as coaches, guide clients not just to achieve goals, but to embody transformation.

Nirala Ramlall is a Master Certified Coach (ICF) and master practitioner across various modalities including NLP, Positive Psychology, Complimentary therapies and NSD. With over four decades of leadership and organizational development experience, she empowers individuals, teams, and organizations to achieve sustainable success. Founder of Spiral to Emerge, Nirala offers signature services such as Leadership and Executive Coaching, Supporting aspiring coaches with training and mentor coach, Leadership and Management Development Programs, Coaching Supervision and Purpose Beyond Retirement. Recognized globally as one of the Top 101 Global Coaching Leaders and named Most Influential Leader in Africa, she inspires resilience, renewal, and self-mastery.

Writing circle

Come and join us every last Friday of the month to nurture and develop your writing voice.

The event offers a combination of welcomes, writing prompts and activities for about 10-15 mins. Then we all do some silent writing for about 90 mins, writing on whatever you wish to focus while in the company of others. Some examples of what people write – blog posts, social media posts, reflection journal entries, outlines for programmes, articles / for publication, chapter for a book, etc.

Coaching for Social Impact

On 2 June 2026 at 09h30 SAST, we will host a virtual Coaching for Social Impact half-day, connecting ICF coaches with leaders from NGOs, NPOs, and NPCs working at the frontline of change.

This is not a workshop or training session. It is a structured, coach-led space designed to offer what is often missing in high-pressure environments: time to think, space to align, and the ability to lead forward with clarity.

For participating organisations, this is a complimentary opportunity for senior leadership teams to step out of operational urgency and focus on strategic direction and effectiveness.

For coaches, it is a meaningful space of contribution, building coaching hours and relationships within the social sector, expanding networks, and coaching with purpose where it matters most.

All coaching is delivered and volunteered by professional coaches who are members of the International Coaching Federation, and will be at no cost to participants.
